  1. To make a good health system in Indonesia is not an easy job, Indonesia is an archipelago with more than 250 million people. Indonesia is also not a country with abundant wealth. many people in Indonesia do not have enough money to see a doctor, in addition, the ability of Indonesian people in health is also not good, the shortage of doctors is still a major problem in the provision of quality health services in Indonesia. I believe that the Indonesian government is already understood that health is the right of the main Indonesian society, but often times the funds provided by the government was corrupted by many people who are not responsible. public primary clinic is already widespread throughout Indonesia, but the number of doctors and medical staff there is still lacking, and also their ability to cure the patient is still in doubt, then the government of Indonesia should take this matter seriously and immediately build a health system that is appropriate for all citizens of Indonesia.

  2. We have been well informed, there are many health issues faced by this country. Health is one of the main components of people’s life beside education and technology. We can see the advancement of a country through the quality of it’s public health system. I also agree with Valdo, to create the world’s largest public health system for more than 250 million people abosolutely does not an easy job. Generally, Indonesian’s peoples health condition are not very good. The average of survival rates is always decreasing from year to year, the infant and maternal mortality rates are relatively high, number of people with malaria and dengue fever still increase in every year, the total of HIV/AIDS and malnutrition issues is growing rapidly in recent years. In my view, Indonesia may have a dream to create the world’s largest public health, it can be happened or not does not so matter. Because, an appropriate public health system is an investment to support economic development as well as having an important role to improve the quality of human resources.

  3. It is true that Indonesia needs a proper health system, since it is fond of some disease that quite dangerous. Some of the health programs done by the government are JKBM and Kartu Jakarta Sehat. These programs have worked well among the others, and quite prospective if I may say, but we shouldn’t stop just here. There are a lot of programs that we can create in order to maintain a good health system, since sick people doesn’t only find in big city, but also in the small village as well, and it turns out that they suffer more than in the city. Health system in Indonesia must support the unemployed people first, because they do not have sufficient numbers of money to pay for medication. Indonesia can create some sort of funding donation for them like Sedekah Rombongan, so we can gain some funds to help the one that need it the most.

  4. Indonesia consists of more than 250 million people who live across Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke. I think if Indonesia is going to have the largest public health system doesn’t really matter. What really matters is the health itself in Indonesia. As we know, health is one of benchmarks of how well the citizens of a country live. Many epidemics appearing across Indonesia, but the government are not able to solve this problem well. The government also can’t provide facilities to cure people for certain disease. That makes Indonesian people are going abroad to get cured. Indonesia is lacking of doctors for isolated areas across Indonesia. Many people who live in those areas are easily to get infected by malaria, or dengue. And they don’t have the right medicine to cure that disease. Poor people who get sick also get slow response from the hospital or clinics around their neighborhoods. They don’t even get permission to be treated. These problems should be considered more that the largest public system thing.

  5. Health has always been an issue all over the globe, and Indonesia is not an exception. Health service in Indonesia is being improved over and over again to meet the needs and demands of the society. If we talk about health in the big cities and the middle class to the upper class citizens, then it may not be much of a concern, but it will be if we talk about the remote places and the less fortunate people, it is a whole different thing. Indonesia is populated by more 250 million lives, excluding those who may be “under the radar”, and the middle class and upper class citizens are not as many compared to the ones that living life on a low income.
Health is connected to many different aspects in life, especially in financial, educational, and awareness issues. Health service will never be available if it is not funded adequately, the society will always be struck with illness and diseases that can be fatal even if they are somewhat-minor diseases if they don’t know how to prevent or manage it, and general awareness on the importance of health and wellbeing that are constantly neglected by the society contributes to the seemingly deteriorating health quality in Indonesia. The economy and work opportunities that are unfavorable for most of the people in Indonesia is also a key factor that affects health in Indonesia, as hinted previously.
Doctors are lacking in number and some may even lack in capabilities, ideas on how to tackle health issues by the government may seem premature and not really well thought of. Health quality cannot be improved by developments in medicine and health sciences fields alone, as many other aspects need to be improved also to further support and sustain health quality.

  6. The healthcare system is certainly one that requires a lot of funding. Many people here seem to agree that healthcare is a very important aspect of being Indonesian and the government should do their job in proving healthcare because the people have already paid their taxes. However, when you look at 2014’s APBN, you will be shocked to see that the Ministry of Religion will receive Rp49.6 trillion while the Ministry of Health will only receive Rp44.9 trillion. This is absolutely ridiculous. Millions of poor Indonesians die each year because they cannot pay their hospital bills or they don’t have access to hospital because there isn’t any in their village, but the government thinks that is not as important as providing holy books, renovation of hajj facilities in Saudi Arabia, and recruitment of 1500 people for the Hajj Management Committee. All of this occurs when the cost of hajj for Indonesians is still one of the highest in the world. Rather than spending money on a redundant and ineffective ministry, why can’t the government use that money to make the lives of Indonesians better? People can’t go for hajj anyway if they’re already dead.

  7. Indonesia is the 4th largest population country in the world, so it is a must for the government to secure all of the citizens health condition. Indonesia needs a god system of health, I agree. Every single of time there are more and more diseases found, like H1N1,H5N1, corona virus and many more. Firstly Indonesia must have more doctors who understand well about desease and its prevention. On January, the Ministry of health in Indonesia launched a program named BPJS-Kesehatan which will control and give a help to every citizens who has a problem with their health condition. I hope it could run efficiently without any problem like crrupted or something like that. I hope it can completely help all of indonesian citizens. Because Indonesia is the biggest archipelagos country, it will difficult for the government to control the far rregion in Indonesia, like in Papua. But if Indonesia has prepared the good system and work it properly, it will helps, and increase the welfare.

  8. In order to make an efficient health care system, we couldn’t just speculate about how we could boost efficiency. We should consider about how developed countries deal with their health problem, and consider of following and implementing their ways in order to achieve success. Japan and Hong Kong’s government play a huge role. Japan’s government implement a rule that dictates payroll taxes paid by employer and employee for health care expenses, they also have insurance for those above 40. They are focusing on building an equal and universal treatment from hospitals, because every person should be treated the same and have the same rights. Hong Kong’s citizen uses public hospital, where only the very wealthy uses the private hospitals. Meanwhile individuals that have the realisation of obligation to contribute a percentage of their wealth to humanity fund Singapore’s health care system. It’s rather embarrassing when we see our officials and rich people are mostly corrupt and use the money for their own, where rich people in Singapore has the awareness and feel responsible for the health of the needy. Hopefully, Indonesia can control and create one of the best health care system.
